Our vicar Rachel Scheffer has been asked by the County Council for the church to be the Local Hub for this area. They will be co-ordinating help and information. On 25 Mar 2020, at 17:00, Rachel Scheffer email@example.com wrote:
Hi everyone. A little update on what has been happening in the last couple of days.
Firstly, we have been approached by the County Council to be the Local Hub for this area. That means as well as getting requests for help directly from individuals they will contact us with details of people who they have identified as being in need.
Secondly, Anne and Eric Williams are being wonderful and Anne is setting up a database of everyone's contact details who live in the Spirit Delivery area (that is Stamfordham, Matfen, Great Whittington, Ryal, Ingoe, Wallridge, Hawkwell, Fenwick and all outlying farms and homes).
This is so we can start to send out communications electronically to avoid distributors needing to go out and post things through people's doors and we we have good communications in general (especially when we get vague requests for help and we need to try and identify who people are).
It will also mean we can identify who doesn't have internet and make sure that they are put on a list to receive phone calls (we have a number of people volunteering to do phone calls).
We are hoping to get the following information for every household in the area:
- Telephone number
- Alternative telephone number (ie. a relative. This is particularly important if people live alone or are vulnerable).
I will be doing some posts on social media asking people to send Anne all the information they have but I think you are all in a unique place to help.
Please can you send Anne all contact information you can think of for every household you can think asap (we do realise this will take some time). Also, don't not send some info for someone just because you don't know the full set of information - a little bit of detective work and we will be able to put the jigsaw together.
The email address to send the information to is: firstname.lastname@example.org
At the moment all requests for help should still come to my email address email@example.com
My phone number will also continue to be the main telephone number. When I have a day off I will put alternative telephone number on my answerphone and that person will have the database and also database of volunteers.
Thank you all so much for all your help in advance.
Stay safe. Good wishes
